MATTRESSES GET A LOT OF USE
All of our mattresses get a lot of use whether we spend much time on them or not. Most people don’t just use their bed to sleep on. It is also a catch-all for laundry, especially when we are behind on folding and end up needing an ample space to take care of things. It is also a place where we lay our babies down in the mornings to get them dressed, after bath time to get them dried off, and a convenient location to lay them to change their diapers. For many of us our mattress also doubles as a couch especially if we have a television in our bedroom. One of my favorite places to watch tv is in my bedroom snuggled up in my bed with a cup of coffee. Our bed also doubles as a dining room table. When my husband is away, my daughter and I usually decide to have dinner in bed which is something fun for us since we typically eat at the dinner table. Regardless of what you use your bed, for most people it generally is not just a place we sleep. It is a place we live. Our mattresses get much more use then we realize.
WORN OUT MATTRESSES
Since most of our mattresses get so much use, it can sometimes be difficult to know when they are worn out. The fact is that most of us are sleeping on a mattress that is probably well past its prime. Many mattresses will be sold with a promise of being suitable for about 10 years. However, that is only if you do not use them often. This time period of 10 years may only work if you just sleep on them for the typical 8 hours at night. It does not include all of the other living that you do on your mattress. So, in reality, our mattresses probably break down in five to seven years, and we are entirely unaware. Having a worn-out mattress can result in headaches, backaches, fatigue, sleepless nights, and irritability. The best thing to do is to just purchase a new mattress to ensure you are getting the best quality of sleep.
