If your furniture choice includes items that are upholstered and you have a lot of precipitation, you will want mold resistant fabrics. After you determine what type of weather your items will endure, you will be ready to think about other things. 

Placement

Just like in your home, the amount of space you have has a lot to do with what you will want to buy. Make sure you have taken measurements and have an idea of the flow of traffic where you will place the furniture. You don't want to make a significant purchase only to realize it's too big when you get everything situated. If you will be placing the items in the yard, you may want to avoid anything made of soft wood like pine. The moisture in the ground can cause it to rot. 

Storage

You will not be outside year round and it is best for your furniture to be indoors, especially if they are made of wicker. Sadly, just covering them up might not be enough to protect them during colder times. Make sure you have a place to put them during this time.
