Does Your Child Need a New Bed?

Kids grow up so fast. I swear I blinked a couple times and my oldest is in high school, now. With that being said, it is an uphill battle every evening to get that child into bed at a decent hour. I have done everything from removing the TV in her room to making a new rule about no phones after 8 pm. Still, the fight is on as soon as she knows I am even hinting at bedtime. 

Of course, teens are still growing and even though they think they are grown-ups. Because of that, they still need to get more rest than people whose bodies are done growing. My youngest went through a phase around six years old where she was afraid of the dark and refused to go to sleep without a fight. Luckily, she seems ready for bedtime except for Saturday evenings. If only both my daughters could get on the same page, how easy life would be. 

Having a Good Bedroom Set

Now, I know my oldest is being hard-headed. However, I know that since sleep is important, its best to have a quality bedroom set and mattress so they can get the best sleep possible. Even if your child fights you about getting sleep, the quality of sleep is just as important as the amount they get. My 9-year-old is supposed to get 9-10.5 hours of sleep each night. That isn't going to happen if her bed is so uncomfortable it wakes her up in the middle of the night. My youngest sleeps on a twin bed and my oldest sleeps on a queen size. I really do try to make sure they have a good nights rest since they are back in school. I would be embarrassed if they came home with a note because the teacher thinks they are sleep-deprived.
